osteopathy
What is Osteopathy?

It is now a recognised complementary therapy controlled by the General Osteopathic Council following the enactment of the Osteopaths Act 1993.

Osteopathy is an approach to healthcare which stresses the importance of the mechanical system of the body in promoting optimal physical health by enhancing the body’s innate ability to self regulate.

In releasing adverse musculo-skeletal tensions throughout the body osteopaths desire to move their patients beyond specific discomforts toward an overall improvement in health and function.

Osteopathic treatment mainly employs gentle but effective hands on manipulative techniques for muscles and joints.

Chris, however, as you will see, also uses a range of supportive therapeutic approaches and equipment to speed your recovery from:

lower back pain (including lumbago, slipped disc, sciatica)

trapped nerves

neck problems and headaches

frozen shoulder including rotator cuff injuries

tendinitis including tennis and golf elbows, RSI (repetitive strain injury)

foot injuries including plantar fasciitis

Chris will spend time with you to help you understand the cause of your symptoms with the aim of preventing future re-occurrence.
